Dr. Edward Aqua of Tufts University will speak on his experiences in electronics recycling. For the past 6 years, Dr. Aqua, his research associate and graduate students, made significant contributions in the field of electronics recycling, first with the US EPA Common Sense Initiative, then with the IEEE in several venues, and most recently with the International Association of Electronics Recyclers, the IAER. For three years, he supervised a Recycling Market Development Program for Engineering Thermoplastics from Used Electronic Equipment. Emphasizing Stakeholders Dialogues, this Program was repeated funded and sponsored the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as a resource to the Chelsea Center and then by the US EPA and the US DOE. This ongoing work on engineering thermoplastics is a model for many reverse logistics business systems.
