West Village Spaces Available for Reservation and Community Use

Primary tabs

Ever since the opening of West Village Dining Commons and Music Annex in the fall of 2017, the Student Center Event Services Team has expanded the suite of services within West Village to include a multitude of new meeting, event, and classroom spaces available to Georgia Tech faculty and students as well as external organizations. Along with hosting West Campus’ dining options from the Georgia Tech Dining Services and academic space that supports the College of Design’s Bachelor’s of Music Technology program, the building boasts six reservable event spaces that can hold larger-scale gatherings for a variety of purposes.

The Ensemble Room and the Unplugged Reading Room (pictured) are available for reservation through the Event Management System (EMS) and are fully A/V equipped.  Additionally, the Reading Room is available to anyone for studying from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m. daily and can otherwise be reserved. Hours of general usage may be subject to change due to reservations. West Village’s classroom spaces are available during the academic semester for non-academic reservations from Friday at 5 p.m. to Sunday at 11 p.m through the Student Center Event Services Team. All meeting rooms have A/V capability, but use of technology and other equipment must be requested as part of your reservation.  Also, there are six small group rooms free for use by the Georgia Tech community on a first-come, first-served basis. In reference to the Music Technology program, these rooms are named after musical terminology, such as Cadence, Harmony, or Tempo.

Located next to the meeting sections is the Dining Commons, which offers a fresh, food-forward approach in a community-centered area similar to a food hall. There are five micro-restaurants with innovative cuisine ranging from the rich Italian food in Olive to the vast flavors of the world at Spice Trail. Other dining options available in West Village are Panera, stationed near the 1st floor main entrance, and Starbucks, positioned on the 3rd floor. The dining and study seating provided display the breathtaking views of the Atlanta skyline and the Georgia Tech green spaces below. Outside the building, the open lawn and adjoining areas offer a wide array of comfortable seating, tranquil water fountains, and reservable fire pits.

West Village provides far beyond just dining, as the Event Services Team is able to work with clients to provide a high-caliber event experience that encompasses the whole of this beautiful building. In April 2018, West Village hosted the Georgia Tech Advisory Board (GTAB) for a decadent evening of dining, mingling, and enjoying the panoramic view of Atlanta’s skyline from the third-floor terrace. “The GTAB event was a great opportunity for our team to show off what we are able to do in West Village,” noted Dr. Lindsay Bryant, Senior Director of the Student Center. “Not many campus events give us a chance to shine like that.”

Students, staff, faculty, and the external community are encouraged to reach out to the Event Services Team to learn how we can elevate your next event at West Village.
