Study Abroad During Your Master’s Program at Georgia Tech

Primary tabs

Masters students can study abroad too! It’s easier than you think for engineering majors to spend a semester at Georgia Tech-Lorraine, Georgia Tech’s European campus in historic Metz, France.

Current Georgia Tech master’s engineering students in Atlanta can spend a semester at Georgia Tech-Lorraine. Degree focuses are in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering, with Aerospace Engineering courses offered as well. All engineering majors are welcome to attend so long as students find enough courses to fill their schedule.

Courses are taught in English, primarily by Georgia Tech faculty. No French language skills are needed, although students are invited to participate in a free French language course if they’d like to learn how to speak to the locals.

All students pay the lower in-state tuition. Housing costs in graduate student housing near the campus is much lower than in Atlanta. To start the process, students should speak with their advisor and ask that their campus be changed from “Atlanta” to “Lorraine” for their semester of choice. International students should first consult with an International Students and Scholars advisor in the Office of International Education to see if they  study abroad.

Please alert the Georgia Tech-Lorraine office in Atlanta of your intent to study at Georgia Tech-Lorraine in the Fall by May 1, in order to allow for enough time to obtain a French visa.
