Employee Learning Week 2018

Primary tabs

It's simple. Georgia Tech is a campus of opportunity.

This year, the 100+ learning and development opportunities Georgia Tech offers its employees will be on display during Employee Learning Week, Dec. 3 – 7.

From new skills such as papermaking and pottery to business skills such as emotional intelligence and public speaking, your Workplace Learning and Professional Development (WLPD) team diligently searched the campus to collect and display the breadth of resources employees have at their fingertips.

More than 15 events and activities will be hosted throughout the week, including a guest speaker who will discuss the “Art of Adaptability,” a student encouragement workshop, and pre-paid time in Paper and Clay. Others have been indexed as a resource to be referenced throughout the year.

“The ultimate objective of this year’s Employee Learning Week is to shine a light on the numerous ways our campus community embraces the idea of lifelong learning,” said LaTrese Ferguson, manager of Workplace Learning & Professional Development. “In support of the event, we are excited to launch the Campus Learning Directory that lists the opportunities happening within WLPD, as well as offerings from our campus partners year-round.”

Kicking off the week is guest speaker Yvette Pegues who will help us explore tangible ways to overcome obstacles. Register here to hear her compelling story.

Employee Learning Week is part of a global campaign created by the Association for Talent Development and recognized by the State of Georgia Governor's Office. It has become an annual event for Georgia Tech Human Resources to promote the value of workplace learning and celebrate those who take charge of their development.

Events and activities during Employee Learning Week and throughout the year have been sorted into the following categories: Health & Well-Being, Creative, Service to Others, Team Development, and Academic/Research.
