October CRC Member Spotlight - Keith Robinson

Primary tabs

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I work for GTRC and I am the Associate Director of IT (I fix computers). I am also one of the Dive Masters in the GT Scuba Program, run through GT Professional Education. I also graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in Management Science (a management and math degree).

I come every morning and workout usually by running. Some mornings I will use the weights if it is not too crowded on the fitness floor and sometimes I will also swim. I do a little bit of everything here. I am also an ultra-marathoner.

How long have you been a member of the CRC?

I have been a member since about 2009.

Where are we most likely to find you in the CRC? What is your favorite part of the CRC?

In the mornings, you are most likely to find me on the track on the fifth floor running.

In the afternoons, you are most likely to find me in the Scuba areas; either in the Scuba room or in the pool with the class.

I like all of the CRC, I use a little of everything. However, the pools are probably my favorite because I can run outside (which I do on the weekends), but I cannot swim outside.

Which dimension of wellness do you feel most connected to while engaging with the CRC (professional, spiritual, social, physical, or emotional)?

I have seen the signs on the fitness floor pillars and I would guess physical mostly. Exercise health is a lot more important to students nowadays than when I was a student.

What is your most fun CRC story?

It would have to be one of the Spring Break International Scuba Trips. We have done seven of them and I have been a part of five of them. My favorite place we have gone is Bonaire, a little island just north of Aruba. It is really pretty and a great place for a Scuba trip!

What else should we know that we have not asked you yet?

I have met a lot of people here at the CRC. Student are hard because they are here for a few years and then they leave, but I have made friends with different students while they are here as well as with faculty and staff. There is one particular student that I met while I was running and working out in the morning and turns out to be he goes to the same church that I go to!
