Primary tabs

On July 25, School of Economics Recruitment and Retention Advisor Casey Hampton presented at the Ruffalo-Noel Levitz National Conference on Recruitment and Retention held at the Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida. The presentation, titled “Going Internally: Recruiting and Yielding Your Own Graduate Students” was presented by Hampton to an audience of student services, recruitment, and enrollment specialists from higher education colleges, universities, and institutes from around the country and the world.

In the presentation, Hampton discussed recruitment ideas and initiatives implemented by the GT School of Economics to recruit and retain current and former GT undergraduate students. Highlights included the enrollment jump from 17 new students in 2017 to over 26 students in 2018, funding opportunities, and collaboration with other campus divisions, schools, and offices to promote and encourage enrollment in advanced degree programs. Also discussed was how to engage current students in the recruitment and enrollment process, offering tours of campus to graduate students, as well as familial involvement in the recruitment process. Hampton was the only Georgia Tech presenter at the three-day conference, and was selected from hundreds of applications to present at the conference.
