State Street Road Closure Begins Monday

Primary tabs

Beginning Monday, May 7, State Street will be closed from Ferst Street for approximately 500 feet heading north. The closure area encompasses the entire street along the length of the Marcus Nanotechnology Building. This closure is to allow utility infrastructure installation for the highly-anticipated Eco-Commons greenspace project that will be adjacent to The Kendeda Building for Innovative Sustainable Design.

The street will be closed through July 31 to accommodate the installation. The sidewalk and bike lanes will remain open. Campus visitors will still be able to access the North Campus Parking Deck by accessing State Street NW via 10th Street.

The purpose of this extended closure of both lanes, in lieu of just one lane closure at a time, is to allow the construction team to more quickly complete the street crossing and not cause additional traffic congestion during one of the busiest times on campus, the start of fall semester.
