Eduroam to Replace GTwifi Later this Summer

Primary tabs

Campus W-Fi users are encouraged to select eduroam as their new Wi-Fi service as plans are underway to sunset GTwifi later this summer.

While you can still choose GTwifi as your network of choice for now, there are many benefits to switching over to eduroam today – namely, the new eduroam Wi-Fi service can be used when visiting another eduroam participating institution rather than trying to connect to their Wi-Fi service. Equally, someone visiting Georgia Tech who h as configured their Wi-Fi to eduroam can use their own institution’s Wi-Fi service.

Do I need to do anything to move to Eduroam?

It is important that only one Tech network is configured on any device at any one time, so you may want to consider switching to eduroam to avoid interruptions when GTwifi is decommissioned this summer. Information on how to make the switch to eduroam is available on the LAWN Website at http://lawn.gatech.edu/help/eduroam.

If you are a faculty or staff member requiring help, contact your department’s IT staff.  Students living in a residence hall can visit one of the Wreck Techs service locations or contact 404.894.0044. You can also visit the OIT Technology Support Center (TSC) on the second floor of the Clough Building, Room 215. Their hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. If you can’t get to the TSC, you can reach them by email at support@oit.gatech.edu or by phone at 404.894.7173.
