The traditional new year celebrated as Vishu, Puthandu, Vaisakhi, Poila Boishakh etc. in different states of India, symbolically represents the first day of the lunisolar calendar and is celebrated with gratitude towards Mother Nature for bestowing abundance and prosperity and to welcome the new year with festivity and joy.
