Title: Synchronization algorithms for multi-carrier systems

Abstract:
As the cell synchronization is performed as the very first step when user equipment wants to camp on any cell, synchronization is one of the critical issues for wireless communications.  In the orthogonal frequency multiplexing (OFDM) systems, synchronization algorithms have been widely researched to estimate and compensate timing and carrier frequency offsets with either data-aided or non-data-aided schemes. Despite the promising techniques offered by OFDM systems, different training sequences or synchronization algorithms can be required for different multi-carrier systems such as filter-bank multi-carrier with offset QAM (FBMC-OQAM). In this talk, I will discuss the conventional synchronization algorithms for OFDM systems and new synchronization techniques for FBMC-OQAM systems
