January Speaker Series: Wesley Longhofer

Wesley Longhofer will presenting a talk titled "Pathways to Carbon Pollution: The Interactive Effects of Global, Political, and Organizational Factors on Power Plants’ CO2 Emissions". Dr. Longhofer is Assistant Professor of Organization & Management in the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. His research interests include organizational sociology, global and transnational sociology, and the environment. Some of his current research includes an NSF-funded project examining the organizational dynamics of global climate change (with Don Grant and Andrew Jorgenson), a comparative study of civil society organizations and educational outcomes (with Tricia Bromley and Evan Schofer), and a systematic review of the academic literature on nongovernmental organizations (with Jen Brass, Rachel Robinson, and Allison Schnabel). Some of his published work has appeared in the American Sociological Review, American Journal of Sociology, Social Forces, Sociological Science, and Scientific Reports.
