Women In International Security, the Sam Nunn Security Program, and the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy present:
"Challenges in Critical Infrastructure Protection"
In recent years, following a number of attacks and foiled plots against critical Infrastructures, there has been a rising awareness of the value that transportation, energy, water, telecommunications, banking, emergency services, and other key systems hold for terrorists as potential targets.
The defining characteristic of these infrastructures is that they are geographically widespread and integral to a smoothly functioning society. For this reason, disruption of these systems holds the potential to create catastrophic economic and societal consequences. While considerable resources have been put into securing these critical assets, many vulnerabilities remain.
This program will bring together a panel of experts to examine several prominent vulnerabilities involving the transportation and emergency services systems and will consider what actions need to be taken to mitigate against disaster.

This program is free and includes a box lunch, but seating is limited.
