The Field Clinical Specialist (FCS) Training Program is designed to ready promising talent for a long-term career with BIOTRONIK.   To start, FCS Interns will train to work directly in clinics/clinical operating rooms and are responsible for providing technical and educational support to physicians, patients, and sales representatives within a defined geographical region in order to meet bradycardia and tachycardia sales and customer service objectives. The FCS Intern acts as the technical support person for Biotronik sales representatives and is responsible for covering all bradycardia and tachycardia product segments. FCS Interns professionally represent Biotronik and provide education, implantation services, follow-up services, in service training, and other related services as necessary to physicians and patients in clinical settings, as well as to sales force and other cardiac pacing-related professionals.

The FCS Intern program is a year-long program and trains participants to become a certified Field Clinical Specialist or Sales Associate at the end of the program. Therefore, the position is open to Biomedical Engineering students who are graduating and ready for a full time job. FCS Field Interns are salaried employees with full BIOTRONIK benefits, and are located throughout the US: being willing to relocate is a plus, and there are opportunities in a variety of locations.  For example, we currently we have exciting field opportunities in Los Angeles, New Orleans, Indianapolis, New Brunswick, Houston, and more.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in BioMedical Engineering or Biology.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the Company. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Represents Biotronik during the implant of products to provide troubleshooting and other technical assistance.
  • Provides technical support with reprogramming and follow-ups in hospitals and clinics.
  • Ensures completion of necessary documentation.
  • Receives technical inquiries by telephone.
  • Educates and trains physicians, hospital personnel and office staff on technical matters relating to our products and pacing.
  • Completes necessary documentation (e.g., implant registration) and phone calls (customer service).
  • Updates sales representatives concerning cases.
  • Immediately notifies representatives regarding issues or problems requiring follow-ups.
  • Serves as effective Biotronik representative to physicians and support staff regarding Biotronik products, service and support.
  • Manages inventories and provides support with rotation and delivery to optimize customer service and efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
