HackGT Soliciting Applications for Premier Annual Hackathon

Primary tabs

HackGT is soliciting applications for Hack GT 4, Georgia Tech’s premier annual hackathon to be held on Oct. 13-15 at the Klaus Advanced Computing Building. Interested students should apply on the HackGT website by Sept. 15.

The event is an annual affair that attracts more than 1,000 collegians from around the nation. Last year, that number was over 1,200 participants.

The organization calls for students from all areas and levels of expertise.

“No matter your major or background, beginner or expert, our event is open to all, because hackathon projects are much more than coding,” a release for the event stated. “So, we are calling out to all the designers, the thinkers, the movers, and the shakers to join us on Oct. 13 for an unforgettable event filled with sensational sponsors, delicious food, and limitless potential for you to create something amazing.”

The event is free of charge for all participants, but will feature prizes to be announced at a later date.

The theme for this year’s event, HackGT Director of Communications Jordan Madison said, was for all participants to reach new heights.

“This means going out of their comfort zone, learning new skills, collaborating with new people, and have a grand time,” he said.
