A panel discussion with six Coulter Department Ph.D. alumni who have experiences in a wide range of industries, i.e. academia, industry, consulting, start-up etc.  We will discuss various topics including facing the two-body problem, the transition out of graduate school, how they found their positions, and any advice they have for current students. Come by to hear and learn from people previously in your position! Food will be provided.

Kartik Sundar, Ph.D., graduated from Georgia Tech in 2009 and has gone on to work at Bain & Company and Cisco Systems. He leveraged his consultant experience to co-found of TeamSlide/Aploris, a company focused on improving the efficiency and facilitating of consultant work.

Rekha Nair, Ph.D., graduated Georgia Tech in 2009 and now works at Asterias Biotherapeutics. Asterias is a biotech company in the field of regenerative medicine and has several products in clinical trials.
 
Chris Quinto, Ph.D., graduated from Georgia Tech in 2015 and is presently the assistant medical director at the Healthcare Consultancy Group. His work involves developing compelling scientific content to support pharmaceutical medical education initiatives.

Jenna Wilson, Ph.D., graduated from Georgia Tech in 2016 is and is now an associate editor at PLOS ONE. Her work involves assessing new submissions, overseeing editorial decisions, developing editorial polices and processes as well as providing support and training to external academic editors.
 
Melissa Kinney, Ph.D., graduated from Georgia Tech in 2015 and is currently a postdoctoral research fellow at Boston Children's Hospital & Harvard Medical School. Her background is in interdisciplinary stem cell engineering.

Philip Keegan, Ph.D., graduated from Georgia Tech in 2014 and is currently a senior member of technical staff at Draper. He serves as the technical director of a human organ system project focused on development of microfluidic, biomimetic platforms capable of recapitulating human organ function and disease states to allow for improved development of pharmacological therapeutics.
