GTRI Hosts Cisco High STEM Externs

The Georgia Tech Research Institute (GTRI) partnered with Cisco Systems to host high school students in Tech’s labs and research facilities.

The Cisco High School Externship Program is a comprehensive, unpaid summer externship designed to give rising and graduating high school Seniors an introduction to STEAM careers at Cisco.

The externship Is a four-week program that provides real-world experience for 20 high-impact students with strong STEM abilities.

GTRI hosted Cisco High externs for the day, on June 14th, 2017.

The externs toured various labs and research facilities within GTRI and the Interactive Media Technology Center (IMTC), as well as, participated in live demonstrations of projects.

“Georgia Tech was extremely eager to do this with us and I find that refreshing when a college wants to reach out to the community,” said Cisco Systems Engineering Manager Uriah Eichele.
