Is Environmental Justice a Human Right?  Self-Guided Tour and Curator Talk, Center for Civil and Human Rights

Thursday, Apr 13th; 1:30pm - 4:00pm; Center for Civil and Human Rights (100 Ivan Allen Jr Blvd, NW)

The Center for Civil & Human Rights is just a 10-minute walk from Tech!  If you haven't visited yet, this is your chance.  If you have visited, this is your opportunity to go through the exhibit with a whole new lens.  Meet SLS representatives at the Center's door for free tickets, then use self-guided tours created by students in two GT English courses to examine what the exhibits can teach us about environmental justice as a human right.  At 3:00pm, join us in the auditorium for a special talk featuring the students and the Center's Education Director.

Every Considered Teachning a GT 1000 Class?

The application for staff interested in becoming a GT 1000 instructor is open until next week.  We would love to have more GT 1000 courses focused around the theme of “creating sustainable communities.”  SLS staff are available to help you structure your course and add these themes into the GT 1000 curriculum.  If you are interested in teaching GT 1000 this Fall, please complete the GT 1000 Instructor Application by March 28.

Georgia Tech Health & Well-Being Opens Healthy Space!

Have an area of interest related to  Health & Well-Being?  Passionate about sharing that interest with others? Georgia Tech Health & Well-Being has opened a Healthy Space in the Student Center Commons building.  Healthy Space was created with the aim of providing the Georgia Tech community with a relaxing space to socialize, study and learn about health and well-being on campus. Organizations, departments, and groups are also welcome to sign up and use the space to “table” information. The space is located on the second floor of the Student Center next to the food commons.  If you are interested in reserving the Healthy Space, you can sign up for a date and time under the “Reserve the Healthy Space” tab found here:  http://hwb.gatech.edu/healthy-space
