Ease Back Into Classes with I <3 GT Week

Primary tabs

As students return refreshed from a week away, the Student Government Association (SGA) is hosting events all week to remind students why they’re here and provide stress relief as classes get back underway.

SGA’s annual I <3 GT Week begins today, with free student events taking place all week. Students can celebrate Tech traditions and enjoy activities on and off campus. A full schedule is below. Keep up with more event details on Facebook.

Monday: I ♥ Traditions – Kessler Campanile, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Participate in Traditions Trivia with Ramblin’ Reck Club while hanging out with the Reck, write a letter to an alumnus with the Student Alumni Association (SAA), and get a T-Book. Students can also still vote for the SAA Gift to Tech and get free swag.

Tuesday: I ♥ Diversity – Kessler Campanile, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

SGA will have organizations share their culture, while students can help SAA create a map of where Georgia Tech students are from. Learn about many campus offices’ commitments to campus diversity. Finally, SGA will host Georgia Tech Night at the Center for Civil and Human Rights from 5 to 8:30 p.m., with free shuttles provided to and from the event. Purchase tickets here.

Wednesday: I ♥ Creativity – Kessler Campanile, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Create-X will be around sharing information about new startups, and Arts@Tech Ambassadors will lead a campus art project for all of campus to participate in. The Georgia Tech Student Foundation (GTSF) will share the work of some of the recipients who have received allocations to benefit the arts. Students can also write a letter to their favorite professors and have an opportunity to win a piece of Georgia Tech art.

Thursday: I ♥ Wellness – Tech Walkway, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Enjoy free yoga on Tech Green at 11 a.m. Bring a towel or yoga mat and join in between classes. The American Medical Student Association will be hosting its Global Health Fair at the Campanile, and there will be therapy dogs and a stress-relieving activity by the SGA Wellness committee, with the opportunity to win prizes. GTSF will also host a financial wellness speaker at 11 a.m.

The Student Center will also host an opening event for the hammock gardens around Tech Walkway at 11 a.m., giving away 20 hammocks and King of Pops. Later that day, join Student Center Programs Council for Sting Break on the Fifth Street Bridge from 6 to 10 p.m. for fun, games, and prizes.

Friday: I ♥ Spirit – Callaway Plaza, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Hang out with Buzz and get lots of free Georgia Tech swag. GTSF will have a photo booth and giveaways, and there will be raffles for items from Georgia Tech Athletics and free food from The Varsity.
