The Carbon Conscious Business Series Presents: Norrie McKenzie, Georgia Power

Mr. Norrie McKenzie, Georgia Power Company’s Vice President of Renewable Development, will discuss Georgia Power’s renewable generation resources and its plans through 2020. The presentation will include the economics of utility scale renewable generation versus distributed generation, the legacy of residential electrical rate making, the renewable options Georgia Power offers its customers, and the things a customer should consider when making a renewable decision.

Norrie joined Southern Company in 1999 to lead the company’s natural gas procurement for its growing gas-fired generation fleet. He was selected as Vice President of renewable development in August 2013. A native of Fort Valley, Georgia, Norrie earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
