Sexual Assault Awareness Month - Take Back the Night

Primary tabs

Take Back the Night is an annual candlelight vigil dedicated to honoring survivors of sexual violence, including intimate partner violence and stalking. It is a night to educate the campus community about these issues and to support our survivors. We believe that a key step in ending sexual violence is believing survivors and creating spaces to allow survivors to share their stories, whether they happened recently or years ago.

If you are a survivor of sexual violence, we are asking for YOU to help break the silence and consider submitting your story by visiting (http://bit.ly/2I75jcj). Your submissions will be anonymous and remain anonymous unless you decide to read your own story at the event. ALL SUBMISSIONS ARE DUE BY SUNDAY, MARCH 18TH at 11:59 pm.

Sometimes the process of writing your story can bring up feelings, questions or experiences that you'd like to seek support for, if you are considering sharing your story, but would like to talk with an advocate before doing so, please call a confidential VOICE Advocate in Health Initiatives. You can reach Amanda Planchard at (404) 385-4451 or Jennifer Gagen at (404) 385-4464. If you would like to contact the student organizers of Take Back the Night, please contact People Against Unwanted Sexual Experiences at pause.gt@gmail.com for additional information.
