Tax Filing Season is Here!

Primary tabs

Tax forms are popping up in your TechWorks and GLACIER accounts; you're seeing commercials for tax prep software, and everyone is talking about their tax refund. But what do you do as a nonresident? What if you have never prepared a tax return before? Where do you start?

As a nonresident, for tax purposes, you can complete your federal tax return using Sprintax, a tax preparation software, which is now available for use. This software will allow you to file your Federal tax return for FREE and will also offer a discounted rate to help you file your state tax return(s).

You are required to request a Sprintax access code in order to prepare your Federal tax return for free. Please note the following instructions:

  1. Complete the Sprintax Access Request e-form which will be available in iStart under the "SSN and Taxes" menu.
  2. If you do not need to file an annual tax return because you had no taxable income, you do not need to access Sprintax and can use the information on OIE’s tax page to complete the form 8843.
  3. Please use the following when asked about your program information while completing Sprintax:
Academic Program Director Name: Marisa Atencio
    Academic Program Address:
    Georgia Institute of Technology
631 Cherry St, Savant Bldg 211
    Atlanta, GA 30332-0284
    Phone: 404-894-7475

Still have Sprintax access questions? Email your name, Georgia Tech ID, and question to nra.ask@ohr.gatech.edu.
