Committee:
Dr. Naeemi, Advisor
Dr. Gaylord, Chair
Dr. Davis
Abstract:
The objective of this research is to develop models to better evaluate the performance and reliability characteristics of proposed spin-based boolean devices which utilize spin-transfer-torque (STT) and dipolar-coupling for successful operation. In addition, the nanomagnet thermal-stability is studied to better understand the reliability of such systems. This research will focus on a particular spin-based logic technology called concatentable-spin-logic (CSL) and while the end result of this research will be a comprehensive analysis of CSL logic, the models developed during this research are applicable to a variety of spin-based technologies.
