Wesleyan Faculty Fellows Program

Primary tabs

The Wesleyan Faculty Fellows Program is designed to give one year of guidance, training, and experience to recent college graduates considering teaching as a career. The fellows program provides individuals having little or no prior relevant teaching experience with the opportunity to develop teaching skills in a supportive environment in which they are given a great deal of responsibility and independence. Faculty fellows are not considered interns or student teachers; rather, they are treated as colleagues within their departments as they teach in lower school, middle school, or high school classroom settings under the mentorship of master teachers. Within the program of the school, the faculty fellow team teaches with a master teacher and, in a scaffold approach, assumes main teaching responsibilities throughout the school year under the master teacher’s guidance. Additionally, fellows attend teaching seminars for professional development, assist in coaching, sponsor extracurricular activities each season, and go on mission trips during spring break.

Applications for fellows’ positions are reviewed for all academic departments and divisions. Faculty fellows are not normally reappointed to the faculty.

As an independent Christian School, Wesleyan seeks faculty who profess Christ as Lord and who are equipped to integrate this faith into their teaching. You must be Christian to apply.

If you are interested in applying for a position in the fellows program, please complete the faculty fellows application from the employment page.

The deadline to apply for the 2017-2018 school year is February 13, 2017.
