We hope you will join us as we screen the Ava DuVernay documentary 13th on Thursday, Feb. 2 as part of the 2017 Georgia Tech Black History Month Celebration. The event will begin at 6:00 PM.
Slavery. Jim Crow. Criminalization. Links in a chain of racial inequality, forged by political and economic motives. In this thought-provoking documentary, scholars, activists and politicians analyze the criminalization of African Americans and the U.S. prison boom.
Discussion to follow. This event is part of the programming series for Black History Month. Co-sponsors include: African American Student Union, Office of Student Diversity Programs, Serve-Learn-Sustain, Writing and Communication Program, and the Department of Literature, Media, and Communication.
