Full Summary:As the front line of contact for students' concerns, you need tools to actively listen to and yet not carry the impact of student's issues. We will explore how to hold safe space for yourself and for hard conversations simultaneously. Learn to play your part in solving issues and not take those issues home with you. This workshop focuses on mindfulness, self-management and developing the tools and skills needed to hold the space in order for difficult conversations to arise, move forward and yield actionable outcomes. The workshop will be led by artist/educator and I Feel Safe When project facilitator Jennifer Edwards. This workshop was originally developed for public school teachers in the Baltimore County School District, and university professors in Maryland and the surrounding area. It has since been integrated into programing at NEW INC, an incubator in New York City that lies at the intersection of Art, Technology and Design. Free!
