GTENS Summer Test on Thursday, June 3

Primary tabs

At 11 a.m. on June 3, the Institute will conduct a summer session test of the Georgia Tech Emergency Notification System (GTENS), Siren Warning System (SWS), System to Create and Relay Emergency Action (SCREAM), and the Georgia Tech Cable TV Alert System.

The following systems will be included in the test:

GTENS: Depending on the opt-in choices to the GTENS system, students, faculty and staff will receive an e-mail message, a voice message and an SMS (text) message. This is a semester test. Please do not hang up during receipt of the 30-second recorded message, as the computer needs that time to determine either a live delivery or a voicemail.

SWS: will play a test message at least twice or more to ensure system is fully operational. The seven speaker locations will be tested simultaneously, then each location individually. The siren alert will be followed by a live voice test.

SCREAM: This system will provide an alert message to classroom projectors logged in to the Georgia Tech network, computer clusters on campus, and digital signs around campus.

Cable TV Alert System: Will show a test message on-screen for 30 seconds.
