ChBE Rises to Fourth in U.S. News Undergrad Rankings

Primary tabs

Georgia Tech’s School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering (ChBE) moved up two spots (to No. 4) in U.S. News & World Report’s latest ranking of the nation’s top undergraduate chemical engineering programs.

This marks the first time ChBE has made the top five in the annual ranking. ChBE is tied for fourth with the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.

The College of Engineering was No. 4 in the nation (up one spot) in this year’s edition of America’s Best Colleges, published on September 13, 2016.

All engineering specialties offered at Georgia Tech placed in the top 10 of their kinds with two just falling outside of the top four in their disciplines, a unique distinction for a program as large as Georgia Tech College of Engineering’s.

“I’m proud to see our College recognized year after year as one of the country’s best,” says Gary S. May, CoE dean and Southern Company Chair. “Rankings are not what drive our successes, but it’s gratifying to watch the College continue its ascent and cement its place among top engineering programs.”

Overall, Georgia Tech is ranked No. 7 among public universities.
