Obama inspires creative outpouring

In Candler Park, cars whiz by a giant wooden cut-out of President-elect Barack Obama, who dominates a leafy front yard with his passionate "Yes We Can" mantra. In Inman Park, a childlike hand-painted sign converts the letters in Obama's name into a sunflower, a house and a rocket ship. . . .GEORGIA TECH industrial design graduate student Shelton Davis couldn't afford to donate money to the Obama campaign. Instead, he salvaged bits of wood and cardboard, purchased the cheapest spray paint he could find, and created stencils of easy-to-duplicate Obama images. "From an artistic standpoint, there was something new and different to play with that's made people very excited," he said.
