Ronald Harley Promoted to Regents\' Professor

ECE Professor Ronald G. Harley is one of two Georgia Tech faculty members who have been promoted to the rank of Regents’ Professor, effective July 1. A committee of Regents' and chaired professors recommended him and Jean-Luc Bredas, of the School of Chemistry and Biochemistry, for this honor. These recommendations were confirmed by Georgia Tech Provost Gary Schuster.

Dr. Harley is a prolific contributor to the field of power electronics, electric machines, and power systems throughout his long and very distinguished career in academia. Before his arrival at the Georgia Tech School of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 1999 as the Duke Power Distinguished Professor, he was widely recognized as one of the very top researchers in electrical engineering in South Africa.

During his 40-year career, Dr. Harley has published more than 400 publications
