Microsoft Research Dedication Ceremony

Microsoft Corporation and the Georgia Electronic Design Center (GEDC) have announced that they will establish a joint center for radio-frequency identification (RFID) research at GEDC's headquarters at the Georgia Institute of Technology.

The partnership will receive $600,000 in funding from Microsoft over two years to pursue research in secure encrypted RFID. The work, which will be based on intellectual property provided by both partners, will support basic research into RFID technology, as well as student education in the field.
