ATLANTA (August 2, 2006)--Dr. Seymour (Sy) Goodman organized and spoke at "Cyber Security in Africa," the first session of its kind during the U.S. government's African Center for Strategic Studies Senior Leadership Seminar. The Center's annual flagship program, held this year in Atlanta on June 11-23, gathered over 100 senior-level military and government representatives from more than 45 African states, as well as participants from Europe and the United States. Attendees pursued cooperative and collaborative approaches to the security challenges facing the African continent.

Goodman is a professor of computing and international affairs jointly at the College of Computing and the Sam Nunn School of International Affairs at Georgia Tech. He also serves as Co-Director of both the Georgia Tech Information Security Center (GTISC) and the Center for International Strategy, Technology, and Policy (CISTP). The two-week seminar hosted Goodman's "Cyber Security in Africa" session on June 19. CNN covered the session and aired an interview with Goodman on June 24.
