Please join us for a CISTP Lunch and Lecture, "New Perspectives of Official Development Assistance: Integrating the Korean Case" with Dr. Changrok Soh, professor, Korea University (Visiting Scholar, The Nunn School).

During the 50 years history of Official Development Assistance, there has existed a distance between donor and recipient countries, but it is only recently that global efforts have concentrated on strengthening these ties to develop "global partnership." Korea is unique in that it has been able to transform itself from a recipient to donor country in the course of a few decades. Dr. Soh's presentation will focus on the role that Korea must play as a bridge between developing and developed countries, as he analyzes the progress that has been made in the case of Korea.

Changrok Soh is professor of the Graduate School of International Studies at Korea University; Deputy Director of the Asia Center for Human Rights; and director of the Citizens' Alliance for North Korean Human Rights. He has a BA in International Relations from Seoul National University and MS and Ph.D. degrees from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. He is a visiting scholar at The Nunn School during the 2009-2010 academic year.
