Abstract: The objective of the proposed research is to develop collaborative experimental, computational and analytical tools for the study of sensor networks. To this end, our research efforts include developing a deployable sensor network testbed, a versatile sensor network simulator, and an applicable network analysis framework. The anticipated outcomes are: (1) A scalable, synchronized and deployable sensor network. (2) An NS3-based large-scale sensor network simulator with novel clustering and routing algorithms. (3) Innovative stochastic models for the analysis of wireless networks. In particular, we are developing a vibration sensor network that collects real-time data for the structural health monitoring of the Bobby Dodd Stadium, designing an energy-balancing, low-delay routing protocol for hierarchically clustered wireless sensor networks, and performing delay and connectivity analysis of finite ad-hoc networks using results from stochastic geometry.
