As part of its STEM Program, Oak Grove Elementary School in DeKalb County conducted a Powers of Ten Day on October 8th.  The entire school participated in a variety of activities to help students increase their understanding of size and scale.  As part of the activities, Joyce Allen set up nine microscope stations.  These stations included USB digital microscopes, optical compound microscopes and iPads with a micro lens.  All 4th and 5th grade students rotated through the microscope stations and were asked to think about how magnification helps them to see details they would not be able to see with just their eyes.  The final station was the Hitachi TM 3000 tabletop Scanning Electron Microscope.
