Get Your Game On with Sports Film Series

Primary tabs

The Sports, Society and Technology program of the Ivan Allen College of Liberal Arts and the Georgia Tech Office of the Arts present Sports on Film, a series of sports films that will be held in the Student Center Theater. Reflecting this year’s Arts@Tech theme of “Get Your Game On,” the program is free and open to the public.

The sports film reveals itself to be the most elastic of cinematic genres, capable of encompassing drama, romance, farce, satire, and social commentary. While sports films have been around since cinema’s inception, the Sports on Film series at Georgia Tech will examine how the sports film reinforces and critiques issues of race, nation, gender, celebrity, and fan culture.

Sports on Film is presented with support from the Campus Recreation Center. All films start at 7 pm in the Student Center Theater:
