Stamps Health Services Pharmacy Now Accepting More Insurance Plans for Students

Primary tabs

As of this week, the pharmacy at Stamps Health Services began accepting more than 1,500 prescription plans for students. Previously, the pharmacy could only accept the current Student Health Insurance Plan for prescriptions.

“We are pleased to now be able to accept a variety of student health insurance plans for prescriptions,” said Dr. Greg Moore, senior director of Stamps Health Services. “This is part of our plan to provide more comprehensive medical care for the campus community. In the future, we plan to extend the same convenience to faculty and staff.”

The pharmacy at Stamps Health Services can fill prescriptions issued by a licensed doctor, regardless of affiliation with Stamps Health Services. Students may also have their prescription refills transferred to the pharmacy at Stamps Health Services.

To use pharmacy services, students must show their insurance card and photo identification. Students must also be prepared to make the required copayments using a valid BuzzCard, MasterCard, Discover Card, Visa, or Flex spending card. Students also have the option of paying cash for prescriptions if their current medical insurance plan does not offer prescription coverage or if Stamps Health Services does not currently accept a particular insurance plan.

Students insured with the Student Health Insurance Plan will not be affected by this change and may continue to utilize their existing benefits.

The pharmacy at Stamps Health Services is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday.
