The Brave New World of Digital Health: How the confluence of consumer technology and conventional medicine will change everything in diagnostics, therapeutics and health outcomes.

Do a Google search on "digital health infographic", and you'll get iconic images on everything from medication adherence to electronic health records to fitness tracking to diagnosis-by-iPhone. This is one reason why digital health is confusing as a sector---because any aspect of health can have a digital component, the sector can encompass everything that the entire health care industry does. There is no mistaking the growing importance of the digital health sector in terms of its impact, with 250+ new companies created in 2014 with over $4B in capital. And now, a critical question we face is how we can redefine health outcomes at the patient-consumer level in the digital era. Deborah Kilpatrick and Christine Lemke of Evidation Health will lead a discussion about how they're mashing up the best of both worlds in consumer tech and health care in Silicon Valley and bringing a whole new solution to the marketplace for doing just that.

Deborah Kilpatrick, Chief Executive Officer

Deborah is the Chief Executive Officer of Evidation Health. Prior to this role, she served as the Chief Commercial Officer of genomic diagnostics company CardioDx. Earlier in her career, Deborah held multiple leadership roles at Guidant Corporation, including Research Fellow, Director of R&D, and Director of New Ventures in the Vascular Intervention Division. She serves on the Georgia Tech Advisory Board and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Medical and Biological Engineering. Deborah is a co-founder of the MedtechVision Conference, now held annually in Silicon Valley. She holds BS, MS and PhD degrees in mechanical engineering with a bioengineering focus from Georgia Tech.

Christine Lemke, Chief Product Officer

Christine leads product management and development at Evidation Health. Previously, Christine co-founded and led The Activity Exchange, an insight and personalization platform that helps healthcare companies deliver the right digital interventions and incentives to consumers to help them achieve sustainable behavior change. Prior to her work in healthcare, Christine was the co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Sense Networks, developers of the first machine learning platform for mobile phone activity data (exited to YP.com). She has also held roles at 3iGroup (Paris), Microsoft XBOX and co-founded Chicago-based Channel IQ, a product analytics platform. Christine has a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from HEC Paris.
