Primary tabs

Georgia Tech’s College of Engineering recognized Tracie Dinkins with this year’s Hero Award. Dinkins is the financial manager for the Wallace H. Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME). She was one of three staff members recognized for exceptional service to the college. The Hero Award recognizes an individual who:

  • Is a role model and sets a positive work example
  • Is the person that everyone turns to for support or solutions
  • Demonstrates that no job is too big or too small
  • Is committed to the delivery of excellent service at all times
  • Produces exemplary work

A cash award accompanies the recognition. Dinkins has worked for Georgia Tech for more than 16 years and is responsible for grants management, Georgia Tech foundation accounting, and procurement compliance. The College of Engineering has approximately 350 staff members providing critical support to our faculty, researchers and students.

“I was honored to have been nominated and extremely pleased to have won.  I am so very proud to be part of the BME team, we have something good going on here with important research, a great staff, bright students and excellent faculty.  My work ethic is to always be efficient and knowledgeable about my chosen craft. Being proactive, working smarter and not harder are my number one goals.  I am a teacher at heart so if I can point someone else towards the same work ethic then I do not mind sharing a little knowledge to help get them there. If they succeed at what they do, then I succeed as well,” said Dinkins.

Congratulations from the Biomedical Engineering Department!
