Girish Chowdhary received his Ph.D. from the Daniel Guggenheim School of Aerospace Engineering in May 2011.  Under the supervision of Dr. Eric N. Johnson, Dr. Chowdhary performed research in adaptive flight control, including simulation and flight tests of aircraft with significant simulated damage. His thesis, titled "Concurrent Learning for Convergence in Adaptive Control Without Persistency of Excitation" includes important contributions to adaptive control methods, the theory behind them, and their applications. 

 After graduating, Dr. Chowdhary was employed as a Research Engineer with Dr. Johnson in AE at Georgia Tech and then Jonathan How at MIT.  His contributions at Georgia Tech include 10 journal papers, more than 30 conference papers, and a patent.  He also co-taught a course in the Summer of 2011. 

 In January 2013, Dr. Chowdhary will be joining the faculty of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Oklahoma State University.  He earned his B.S. degree in Aerospace

Engineering from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia in 2003 and an M.S. degree in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2008.  He also worked at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) in Braunschweig Germany from 2004-2006.
