Materials Research Society honors Seth Marder

Primary tabs

The Materials Research Society has selected Prof. Seth Marder as the 2015 recipient of the MRS Mid-Career Researcher Award. This award recognizes exceptional achievements in materials research and national and international leadership in materials science.

The Marder laboratory designs, builds, applies, and understands molecules that control the movement of electrons in nonlinear optics materials, organic electronics, and surface coatings. To do this, they combine sophisticated methods of organic and polymer synthesis with analytical methods, surface science, design, and computation, in collaboration with groups at Georgia Tech and worldwide.

MRS is honoring Marder for, “…establishing fundamental relationships between the chemical structure of organic molecules and their optical and electronic properties thereby profoundly impacting how the scientific community designs optimized molecular structures for use in nonlinear optical applications.
