Primary tabs

A total of 270 artists are set to exhibit a diverse range of digital, fine, mixed media, and performance art at the 4th annual Clough Art Crawl in the G. Wayne Clough Undergraduate Learning Commons.

Opening on Thursday, March 5 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., the Clough Art Crawl is an annual student exhibition that seeks to share, inspire, and support the artistic expression of Georgia Institute of Technology students.

“This event provides an excellent opportunity for student artists to share their creativity with the Georgia Tech community and the broader Atlanta community," said Crystal Rosser, Marketing and Events Manager for the Georgia Tech Library.

This year marks an unprecedented growth in participation. A total of 594 submissions were received between December 1, 2014 and January 23, 2015 from 270 artists.

"For many of them, it’s the very first time their art has ever been featured in a juried exhibition," Rosser added.

Each year, a select group of professional artists from metro Atlanta serve as jurors to select the top work in the following medium categories:

  • Drawing/Painting
  • Sculpture/Architecture/Craft Arts
  • Music/Performing Arts
  • Photography
  • Film/Graphic Art/Code-based Art
  • Poetry/Prose (Written)
  • Poetry/Spoken Word (Live)

Each winner will receive a cash prize award. Additionally, opening night guests will vote on the People’s Choice Award.

“This year we are pleased to announce a new prize category: The Best Buzz in Show,” said Rosser.

The recipient of the Best Buzz in Show prize is selected from the group of category winners to receive a special edition 3-D printed statue of Buzz.

The opening night event is free and open to the public.

Sponsors of the Clough Art Crawl include the Office of the Provost, Georgia Tech Library, Office of the Arts, Communication Center, and the Center for Academic Enrichment. Contact Crystal Rosser, Marketing and Events Manager, for more information about the Clough Art Crawl.
