This conference will provide a forum for discussion among research scientists, government agency personnel, industry representatives, remediation managers, public health practitioners, product manufacturers and decision makers with interest in the problem posed by contaminated urban soils.

• Potentially harmful elements in urban soils

• Unforeseen hazard events: Disaster Response and Clean-up

• Vulnerable populations: Measuring the Risk

• Cost-effective soil remediation

• Remediation Guidance: clean-up decision-making

• Policy and Reality

A book of abstracts will be available at the conference and full papers may be eligible for inclusion in a special issue of the Journal Environmental Geochemistry and Health (EGAH). Invitations to submit a journal article will be sent out after the conference.

The Society for Environmental Geochemistry and Health (SEGH), established in 1971, provides a forum for scientists from various disciplines to work together in understanding the interaction between the geochemical environment and the health of plants, animals, and humans. We recognize the importance of interdisciplinary research. SEGH members represent expertise in a diverse range of scientific fields, such as biology, engineering, geology, hydrology, epidemiology, chemistry, medicine, nutrition, and toxicology. www.segh.net
