Call for Old Technology for Library’s retroTECH Exhibit

Primary tabs

Do you remember your first computer? First floppy disk? What about your first cell phone, first video game console, first wearable computing device?

In honor of Project One, the Georgia Tech Library invites you to participate in a crowdsourced celebration of our technological past. Students, faculty, staff, and alumni are invited to participate in the retroTECH exhibit by loaning their old tech to the Library for a brief period of time.

During the month of October, the Library will feature a display of treasured technology pieces from the personal collections of Georgia Tech community.

Consider loaning an old cell phone, a disk, a hardware component, etc. from your collection to be featured for one week in a secure, Library exhibit case. Items do not have to be old, rare, or valuable; they just have to be meaningful to you. The exhibit will invite viewers--both in-person and online--to explore the personal side of our technological lives and inspire them to design the future by hacking the past.

If you’re interested in loaning an item from your collection, fill out this brief web form by September 29th.
