Teacher of Color Preparatory Institute (TCPI)

TCPI is a tuition-free, one year program for aspiring teachers, counselors and administrators of color in charter school and independent schools including boarding and international. The first year of training is followed by two years of ongoing support once a teacher is placed in a teaching job.  The goal of TCPI is to increase the percentage of Teacher of Color in education, to create school environments where all students receive a multi-ethnic education, and to help schools become more inclusive environments.

Applicants must be sophomores, juniors, seniors or graduates of accredited colleges or universities, have a 3.0 undergraduate GPA or higher and seriously considering a career in education.

TCPI applications are now available. Priority deadline is July 28th.  Final deadline is September 29, 2014.

Summer teaching opportunities are available for undergraduates, and graduate school assistance is available.
