Junot Diaz at Georgia Tech

Primary tabs

Join us for a very special guest lecture by internationally acclaimed Dominican-American writer and Pulitzer Prize winner Junot Díaz, scheduled for April 17th at Georgia Tech’s Student Center Ballroom.  Professor Díaz’s books, “Drowned” and “The Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao” have been praised by critics for their complex presentation of the Dominican immigrant experience in the US. In addition, he is a noted advocate for social issues of vital importance to Latinos including immigration policy, educational opportunities, and community activism.

In this lecture Education and Immigration in the U.S.: A Conversation with Junot Díaz, the author will address current topics regarding immigration and education and the role of public policy and activism in the improvement of Latino and immigrant communities in the United States.

The lecture will be held at 6:30 pm in the Georgia Tech Student Center Ballroom (350 Ferst Drive, Atlanta, GA, 30332). A reception will follow the lecture.

This Junot Diaz lecture is the kick off event for the Arts@Tech Speaker Series.
