Technical Writing Seminar (2) for Ph.D. Proposal and Dissertation Preparation

Primary tabs

Gail Palmer will conduct two technical writing seminars designed to help ECE graduate students polish their skills and write successful Ph.D. proposals and dissertations. Gail will offer students grammar and punctuation guidelines and hints for avoiding common errors in style, mechanics, and format. Students who are writing their proposals and students who had numerous corrections on their edited proposals will find these seminars particularly helpful.

The focus of the first seminar will be on how to avoid making the more common mistakes that Gail has found in editing previous proposals. The focus of the second seminar will be on how to successfully proofread your proposal/dissertation. Please plan to attend both seminars – despite the late afternoon start time for the first seminar, both seminars will be worth your effort.

Seminar 1: “Frequent Mistakes Made in Writing a Ph.D. Proposal.” Tuesday, March 11, from 6:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. in Van Leer C 341.

Seminar 2: “Proofreading Your Proposal.” Wednesday, March 12, from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. in Van Leer C 457.
