Farooq Publishes Three Articles

Assistant Professor Nihad Farooq was the William S. Vaughn Visiting Faculty Research Fellow at Vanderbilt University for 2012-13 and participated in a year-long Sawyer Seminar composed of Vanderbilt Faculty and guest speakers from other institutions entitled "The Age of Emancipation: Black Freedom in the Atlantic World." As a result of that experience, Farooq has been busy recently, thinking, writing, and publishing about the issue of race.

She also published an article in Fall 2012 with Concentric: “Narrating Sense, Ordering Nature: Darwin’s Anthropological Vision.” Concentric: Literary and Cultural Studies 38.3 (September 2012): 87-111.

In addition, she has a forthcoming article with the Journal of Transnational American Studies: “National Myths, Resistant Persons: Ethnographic Fictions of Haiti,” Journal of Transnational American Studies 5.1 (Fall 2013): 1-36.
