The series, which is published by The Atlantic (essays) and Bloomsbury (books), was launched earlier in June and will be edited by Bogost and Chris Schaberg.

Object Lessons invites contributions from scholars, writers, journalists. Essays of roughly 2,000 words will be published online at The Atlantic's Technology Channel. Concise, affordable, beautifully designed books of roughly 25,000 words will be published in print and electronic formats by Bloomsbury.

As a part of the series launch, the first book, by Caetlin Benson-Allott, examines the remote control from an historical perspective. The first essay, by Leigh Alexander, is a paean to the Domino's Pizza (http://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2013/06/dominos-the-pizza-that-never-sleeps/276572/).

According to Bogost, this is "only the beginning. We've got lots more essays and books in the pipeline already, so stay tuned for more."
