Manufacturing Brown Bag Seminar: Shreyes Melkote on Precision Machining

The Georgia Tech Manufacturing Institute (GTMI) welcomes Dr. Shreyes N. Melkote, Morris M. Bryan, Jr. Professor for Advanced Manufacturing Systems in the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, and Associate Director of GTMI, who will speak on "Precision Machining - An Overview of Recent Activities," on Monday, March 11, 2013. The seminar begins at Noon in Room 114 of the Callaway Manufacturing Research building.

Dr. Shreyes Melkote's current research interests include precision machining and photovoltaic manufacturing.  Dr. Melkote is a recipient of several honors including the ASME Blackall Machine Tool and Gage Award, the SME Dell K. Allen Outstanding Young Manufacturing Engineer Award and several Best Paper Awards at leading ASME and SME conferences. He is a Fellow of the ASME, an Associate Member of CIRP, and a member of the Board of Directors of the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of the SME (NAMRI/SME).
