MLK’s Eldest Son to Give Annual Lecture

Primary tabs

On Jan. 16, members of the Georgia Tech and Atlanta communities are invited to hear Martin Luther King III deliver the Institute’s second annual Dr. Martin Luther King (MLK) Jr. Lecture.

King, the oldest son of the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Coretta Scott King, is a leading advocate for strategic nonviolent action to rid the world of social, political and economic injustice.

“Diversity is one of Georgia Tech’s greatest assets and priorities, and we’re delighted to have Dr. King’s son speak at this event that has become the centerpiece of our MLK celebration,” said Archie Ervin, vice president for Institute Diversity. “It is our hope that events like this one will spark discussion and renew enthusiasm for building the kind of society Dr. King hoped to create.”

The lecture will be held at 3 p.m. in the Student Center Ballroom. King’s talk will focus on the theme of the celebration, “The Dream and the Journey Continue.” Those interested in attending should RSVP here.
